Mancelona Bass Fest Tournament Rules

1. Tournament rules: The following rules must be adhered to. Failure to comply with these rules will result in immediate disqualification. For situations that arise that are not specifically addressed in the following rules, a judgment by the tournament director will be final.

2. Entry Fees: $15.00 per person

3. Pay Out: Prizes will be awarded for largest fish for 1st place and the a second and third will be awarded.

4. Tournament Hours: Tournament will start at 7am and end at 1pm. Registration and inspection will start at 6am

5. Lightning rule: If Lightning is seen anywhere get to land A.S.A.P.

6. Safety: All Persons involved in tournament events and activities are required to wear a coast guard approved life preserver at all times when on the boat. The boat shall meet all current state and coast guard rule and laws, No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances will be consumed before during the tournament when on the water. All laws and rules will be followed and strictly enforced, Any team cited for a fishing or moving violation, or acting in an unsafe or unsportsmanlike like manner will be disqualified instantly.

7. Legal Fish: All bass must be a minimum of 14 inches as described in the Michigan State Fishing laws, Live wells will be used and bubble tabs are suggested, Fish will be weighed live. Fish smaller than minimum will not be weighed.

8. Tackle and Equipment: Only artificial bait may be used. Only 2 fishing poles per person may be used. Trolling is permitted.

9. General Rules: No fishing within 150 ft of another boat. Do not leave tournament waters during tournament hours unless its an emergency. If you have to leave notify tournament officials. Any protests or complaint must be registered with Bill Simpson before weigh in.

10. Tournament waters: Competitors may fish any navigable waters that can be reached from tournament launch site.

11. Weigh-in: Officials will perform the weigh-in. Competitors will initial weigh-in sheet.
