Community in Schools Kid's Night
  This night is designed for the youngest of our festival goers.  It marks the official start of the festival.  There will be some games, crafts, obstacle course, and concessions.  All brought to you by Mancelona Communities In Schools.

Mancelona Public Schools Art Showcase
  Held during the Kid's Night, this event shows the talents of the K-12 Mancelona Public Schools art students.  Come and stroll the halls, meet the teachers, and enjoy the showcase.

Kid and Pet Parade
  Kids of all ages line-up to impress the judges.  They bring bikes, wagons, and many other creative items to display in the parade.  The pets are not left out.  These animals are usually in costume, so come and see all the cute and creative kids and animals.

Banana Split Eating Contest
  This is an annual event held at our local Dairy Queen.  The contest is 'split' into age categories.  You must register at the DQ before the event to secure you spot.

Mancelona Idol
  Local talent takes the stage in this popular event.  This is a fan favorite.  If you'd like to participate, be sure to check out web site for registration information.  We've taken people the night of the event before, but due to the popularity you may have to pre register.

DJ Street Dance
  A teen favorite.  The music will be playing and the kids will be dancing.  This is a nice social gathering for our area teens.

Rotary Chicken BBQ
  This tradition continues.  Massive amounts of food will be served.  The Mancelona Rotary puts on one of the best feasts for all guests.  The prize winner from our parade drawing will be announced during thies event.

Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians Mini Pow-Wow
  This year marks the G.T. Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians first visit to our festival.  There will be tradition song and dance.  Some items will be available for sale.  Be sure to bring your family by for an educational and fun experience.

Fireworks!
  The Mancelona High School will be the backdrop for the return of fireworks to the festival.  They can be seen from most areas of our village.  When the sun sets the fireworks begin.

Community In Schools 5K Run/Walk
  Test your skills or just come for an enjoyable stroll through the scenic trails and roads south of Palmer Park.  This event draws some of the areas best runners and lots of area residents looking for a good time.  There are categories for each age/gender.  So come down and go for the gold!

Kid's Games
  This event will draw youth from the area to enjoy traditional carnival games.  Think about the three legged race, potato sack races, and the like.  As the final games are decided, we'll list them here.

Dueling Pianos
  The final performance of the festival.  This duo really thrills the crowd.  Enjoy the show while the kids finish enjoying the carnival.  When this event is over, so is the festival.
